Author’s Welcome

Hello and welcome to my corner of the internet! If you’ve found your way here, you’re likely a fellow lover of epic tales, fantastical worlds, and grand adventures. I’m thrilled to have you join me on this journey as I prepare to launch my first book, The Tiderider of Montebayo, the first episode in The Adventures of Plynth Abanoye series. But before we dive into that, I’d like to share a bit about myself and the inspiration behind this story.

I have always been captivated by the magic of storytelling. As a child, I was drawn to the rich worlds and daring escapades found in fantasy books, films, and TV shows. Whether it was the swashbuckling exploits of Zorro, the epic quests of The Lord of the Rings, the timeless adventure of Treasure Island, or the witty charm of The Princess Bride, I found myself lost in these tales, eagerly exploring every corner of their universes and attempting to recreate them.

These stories were more than just entertainment for me—they were an escape, a place where anything was possible, and where the limits of reality could be joyfully ignored. My younger brother and I would often recreate the sword-fights we saw on screen, turning our garden and mum and dad’s bedroom into battlefields where heroes and villains clashed in epic duels. Those play-fights were just the beginning; soon, we were crafting our own worlds, populated with characters of our own making, each with their own stories to tell.

Plynth Abanoye and the world of Veldia have been with me for the past fifteen years—a project that has evolved alongside me. It began as a collection of ideas and drawings, a world where I could lose myself when reality became too overwhelming. In many ways, it has been a form of therapy, a way to process my thoughts and emotions through the lives of my characters. Plynth’s adventures have been my escape, my constant companion, and now, I’m excited (and a little nervous!) to share them with the world.

As I prepare to release the first book, The Tiderider of Montebayo, into the wild, I can’t help but feel a mix of excitement and apprehension. This story has been such a personal part of my life for so long that sharing it feels both thrilling and vulnerable. But more than anything, I’m eager to see how it resonates with readers, to hear your thoughts and to discover how Plynth’s journey might inspire or entertain you.

Thank you for stopping by and taking the time to read this. I look forward to sharing more about the world of Veldia, the characters who inhabit it, and the adventures that await them. Here’s to the start of an exciting journey—both for me and, hopefully, for you as well.

Stay tuned for more updates, and feel free to drop a comment or reach out. I’d love to hear about the stories that have inspired you!

Best wishes,

Joshua
