Gilbert Montarion
Gilbert Montarion, the younger brother of Arch Duke Ernold Montarion, was raised in the opulence of Brightcastle, far removed from the hardships of common life. Spoilt from birth, he grew up indulged and sheltered, never having to face the rigors his brother endured. As a result, Gilbert harbors a deep-seated need to prove himself, particularly in the shadow of Ernold’s legacy. He is dangerous because of his ambition and the power his name carries, but remains untested in battle, leaving his true capabilities uncertain. His arrogance and inexperience make him unpredictable, yet his hunger for recognition drives him to seek glory—often at reckless costs.

Ernold Montarion
Arch Duke Ernold Montarion ascended to power at a young age after the untimely death of his father. Despite the burden of early leadership, he proved himself a studious and capable ruler, immersing himself in history, lore, and military strategy. His intellectual prowess and strategic mind earned him widespread respect among his peers and subjects alike. As a well-respected leader, Ernold is known for his wisdom, fairness, and ability to inspire loyalty. However, he is deeply troubled by the growing threat of forest bandits in Ederland, which threatens the safety of his people and the stability of his duchy.

Ludowick Romanelle
Lord Ludowick Romanelle, ruler of the northern region of Rhaone, is a man of intelligence and ambition. Known for his sharp mind and keen political instincts, he often casts a wary eye toward the Montarions, whose influence he both respects and envies. While he governs his lands with skill, his preoccupations lie more in the preservation and elevation of his family’s lineage. Ludowick is deeply concerned with the prestige of House Romanelle, and much of his decision-making revolves around securing a lasting legacy for his descendants and ensuring that his house is seen as equal to, if not greater than, the Montarions.

Balancing duty, honour, and ambition, she seeks to secure her family’s place in history.
